I can hardly believe I’m here – learning all these things, making my way to helping those hands my heart longs to hold. I can hardly believe I’m writing this first post – the first post of a blog which aims to open our eyes and spread the word of this need.
The need? Deaf children throughout the world will never learn sign, will never be able to communicate or be communicated to. Many of those who will may have basic communication, but not the full expression of a developed language. Their hands are their only way of speech, and those hands are left speechless.
They’ll never read, never write, never know our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
They’re the reason my hands are aching. They’re the reason my hands are typing, desperate to beckon your hands to join my own in prayer, to raise them in praise to a God Who sees these children and has given us the means to help them, and to use these hands to raise up their own, giving them language and the knowledge of God through their hands.

You don’t remember me but I met you when you were just a little girl of 6 or 7yrs old. Your mom & dad sang in my wedding and I love them very much. Your mom & I met on a missions “trip” and we were roommates. I was so encouraged by your post. Your father recommended his friends to read it and to have a glimpse of your heart – your desire to reach out, with literally your hands, to teach others not only signing but teach others about our glorious King & Lord. I am inspired to want to do more…I will commit to praying for you while you are on your missions trip and serving Him. Stay safe & know God will bless your efforts as you grow in Him.

Wow, r u in speech and language for your career? I am a school based occupational therapi st and work closely with S&L’s !!! I think it’s wonderful that u r experiencing first hand work in India with this population! May God be at work through u:)
After Bible college, I was going to college for writing/ communications, American Sign Language and nonprofit. I was only there for a semester, though, before The Lord led me here. I’m pretty young, so I don’t have an established career yet, but my long term goal is to be a book author and nonprofit blogger to advocate for deaf missions and encourage the church…. And be a homeschool mom of a bunch of biological and disabled adopted kids. (You know, when I can find a man who is game for all that 😉 haha)
